DAY(01) YANGON ARRIVAL AND EVENING: VISIT SHWEDAGON PAGODA IF TIME PERMIT

Arrival Yangon by international flight. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Evening visit Shwedagon Pagoda rises 326ft (99.3m) above its base. Erected more than 2500 years ago and enshrining eight hairs of Buddha placed in a treasure chamber deep under its base. It is the highest symbol of the people's devotion to Buddha. Enjoy dinner at Karaweik Restaurant with Myanmar Culture Show. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.

DAY(02) YANGON – HEHO (AM FLIGHT) AND PINDAYA – KALAW SIGHTSEEING (BY PRIVATE CAR)

Breakfast at hotel. This morning, check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport in order to leave for Heho.  Arrival Heho you are now in the Shan State. Agreeable climate 800 meter above sea level, fertile land various flowers and vegetables for the whole of Myanmar are harvested here. Drive to Pindaya Cave (approx. 1 ½ hr)-believed to contain more than 8000 Buddha Images of all sizes, caved in wood, stone, marble and bronze thickly glided. Shan papers production cottages are also interested in visiting where handmade papers are produced from the plup of mulberry bark dried in the sun. Other cottage industry interesting to visit is oiled paper umbrellas used by monks and nuns. Every part is worked by hand. In the late afternoon, proceed to Kalaw about 2 hrs. Formers British hills station town, cool, spring-like weather, pine forests, tea plantations and colorfully clad hill tribes make this town to a natural magnet for tourists.  Visit the Local Market and walking up the hill to see the Old Catholic Church, Kalaw Railway Station (built in 1918), the colonial buildings on East Circular Road, Nee Paya, woven with the bamboo strips and covered with cloth dipped in lacquer. Overnight at hotel in Kalaw.

DAY(03)  KALAW – ELEPHANT CAMP – KALAW SIGHTSEEING

This morning, our guide will pick up at hotel and drive to Elephant Camp about 1 hrs. You will have to walk about 10 minutes to Elephant Camp village and see the life of mahouts with their families. Time to introduce with elephants and feed them with daily prepared food. Our guide will lead you to the river where Elephant bath and you can join for washing Elephants like your owned pet. Riding is not main focus. You will be in touch with Elephants as Mahouts during washing time. Lunch will be served at the main camp. You may able to have more information about Elephant and forest. Return to main camp and enjoy the view through valley. Drive back to Kalaw. Overnight at hotel in Kalaw.

DAY(04) KALAW – NYAUNG SHWE (BY PRIVATE CAR/APPROX: 02:30 HRS) AND INLE LAKE SIGHTSEEING (BY BOAT)

This morning, check out from the hotel and drive to Inle Lake about 2:30 hrs. On the way photo stop of Shwe Yan Pyay old wooden monastery, Take a short boat trip on Inle Lake to reach the hotel.  Sightseeing by boat on the beautiful Inle Lake home to Inthar national race, many of whom live in stilted houses built over the water. Inle Lake is second largest lake in Myanmar, stretches 11 miles (17.7 km). On the boat trip you will visit the market places, floating villages and floating gardens, silk & lotus stem weaving. You can also see Inthar technique of leg-rowing where one leg is wrapped around the paddle to drive the boat and also their traditional way of fishing. Afternoon: visit the famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and Nga Phe Kyaung  Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries on the lake to see ancient Buddha images.  Overnight at Hotel in Inle Lake.

DAY(05) INLE LAKE – INDEIN – INLE LAKE SIGHTSEEING (BY PRIVATE CAR)

This morning, explore one of the local 5-day markets, as we easily called, are well-known visit around the lake.  The markets are rotating among the villages in regular order - one village becomes the host of the market every 5th day.  By visiting 5-day markets, you will get insight into the life-style of the ethnic Pa-O, Danu and Intha inhabitants who came to these markets to sell their goods.  The visit to such markets is thus subject to market day calendar and the location of the host village. Take enjoyable boat ride through irrigation canals to Indein pagoda complex- an archaeological site worthy to visit where hundreds of Shan style ruined pagodas stand on slop of a hill. Some of the pagodas dated back to 17th and 18th centuries. Overnight at hotel in Inle Lake.

DAY(06) INLE LAKE – HEHO – KYAING TONG (AM FLIGHT) AND KYAING TONG SIGHTSEEING

This morning, check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport to leave for Kyaing Tong. Arrive Kyaing Tong airport and transfer to hotel for check in. Tour around the town and surroundings.  Kyaing Tong is the second biggest city in Shan State, capital of the Golden Triangle region and one of the most attractive towns in Myanmar. Take a short drive to Naung Taung Lake, in the centre of the town. The lake shore is a popular spot for morning and evening walks. Overnight at hotel in Kyaing Tong.

DAY(07) KYAING TONG – PIN TAUK VILLAGE – KYAING TONG FULL DAY SOFT TREKKING

Breakfast at hotel. Visit the local market to observe the colorful hill tribes. Then you will be taken by car (~ 45 min) to the trekking point at Pin Tauk area where you can visit the villages of Akha and Lahu. Then start hiking to explore the living ways of Akha and rare Ang ethnic tribe, subgroup of Wa. The region offers scenic panoramic view over the valley covered with terraced rice fields. On the way back to Kyaing Tong, short visit at a Palaung ethnic village, Wan-Pauk. Overnight at hotel.

DAY(08)  KYAING TONG – WAN SENG – KYAING TONG FULL DAY SOFT TREKKING

Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, drive to the direction of Monglar, a border town of China Border. After ~2 hrs drive, start trekking (~1hr) to visit Wan Nyet village, one of the Loi tribe villages. Loi people who belongs to Thai language spoken group, prefers to live in a huge long house for at least five families. Visit the ancient monastery then continue trek for nearly one hour along the beautiful scenic tea plantations to visit Wan Seng, another Loi village which possesses a magnificent monastery in its original architecture style and very huge long houses with approximate 10 families inside. Afternoon drive back to Kyaing Tong with some photo- stops on the way. Overnight at hotel.

DAY(09) KYAING TONG – MANDALAY (BY FLIGHT) & MANDALAY HALF DAY SIGHTSEEING (BY PRIVATE CAR)

Breakfast at hotel. Enjoy a morning visit to the rest part of Kyaing Tong city, such as lone-tree hillock, lacquer-ware workshop, standing Buddha Image, Wat-In ancient monastery well-known for its wooden Buddha Image, Dat-Saon-Kham pagoda and then awaiting car will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Mandalay, which is second largest city and the last royal capital of Burma. When you arrive at Mandalay, visit Mahamuni Golden Buddha Image, bronze casting and marble stone cutting craftsmen quarters and gold leaf beaters. Overnight at hotel in Mandalay.

DAY(10) MANDALAY – AMARAPURA – U BEIN BRIDGE – SAGAING – AVA SIGHTSEEING

Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, drive to Amarapura, capital before Mandalay for visiting silk weaving industry cottages. Morning visit Amarapura Mahagandayone monastery where over thousands of monks are dwelling.  Proceed to U Bein Bridge, 1.6km long wooden bridge said to be the longest teak bridge in the world, built over 150 years. The bridge links Amarapura with an island in the middle of Lake Taungthaman, an intermittent body of water which dries up during winter. Afternoon, In Sagaing visit Soon Oo Ponya Shin Pagoda, perched on the highest hill which offers panoramic views of the valleys and wide Ayeyarwady River.  After visit to U Min Thonze (Hall of thirty Buddhas).  If desired visit silver smith workshops in Yahtaung village. Continue to Inwa (Ava) by boat. Inwa was founded in 1364 and served as capital of Burmese Kingdom for nearly 400 years. Inwa’s finest attraction to visit is the teak Bagaya Monastery which dates from 1834. The 90ft high masonry watchtower Nan myin, the leaning tower of Inwa is all that remains of King Bagyidaw’s palace. Visit Maha Aungmye Bonzan also known as Me Nu Ok Kyaung, the brick structure built in 1818 is same style as common teak monasteries. Overnight at hotel in Mandalay.

DAY(11) MANDALAY – MINGUN – MANDALAY SIGHTSEEING (BY PRIVATE CAR)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to jetty. Take a boat trip about 1 hr to Mingune, located on the western bank of the Ayeyarwady River. Arrive Mingune, visit huge unfinished Mingun Pagoda built between 1790 and 1797 which was split by earthquake in 1838. It is possibly the world's largest pile of bricks. World’s largest working bell of 87 tons cast in 1808 by Bodawpaya. Mya Thein Tan pagoda an image of Sulamani Pagoda at the peak of Mount Meru in Tavatimsa plane of nats. Back to Mandalay by boat. Visit Ku Tho Daw Pagoda also known as world's largest book, surrounded by 729 marble slabs inscribed with Buddhist scriptures. It was built by King Mindon in 1857, modeled on the Shwezigon Pagoda at Nyaung U. Proceed to Golden Palace Monastery, which was once part of the palace complex where King Mindon lived.  Evening view the sunset from Mandalay Hill. Overnight at hotel in Mandalay.

DAY(12) MANDALAY – BAGAN (MALIKHA DAY CRUISE/APPROX: 08 HRS)

Breakfast at hotel. This morning, transfer to the banks of the Ayeyarwady River to catch the Boat to Bagan (approx – 8 hrs). The scenery along the Ayeyarwady is timeless – oxen working the fields, water buffalo wallowing in the mud, golden pagoda spires, fishermen, villagers bathing in the river and, of course, every type of boat and river craft that you can imagine. You should arrive in Bagan in time to see the sunset.  Transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel in Bagan.

DAY(13) BAGAN FULL DAY TEMPLE TOUR (BY PRIVATE CAR)

This morning, our guide will pick up at Bagan jetty and transfer to hotel. Then, start for highlight sightseeing in Bagan, which is on the banks of the Ayerwaddy River is home to the largest area of Buddhist temples, pagodas, stupas and ruins in the world, many dating to the 11th and 12th century. The shape and construction of each building is highly significant in Buddhism with each component part taking on spiritual meaning. Start for highlight sightseeing in Bagan. Visit Shwezigon Pagoda, prototype of later Myanmar stupa & of the famous pagoda of Myanmar. Kyansithar Umin, long dimly lit corridors decorated with frescoes. Htilominlo Temple, 150ft high temple with fine plaster carvings, glazed sandstone decorations in the base. Ananda Temple, one of the most beautiful temples in Bagan built by King Kyansitthar. Visit Thatbyinnyu Temple, tallest in Bagan, Myinkaba Gu Byauk Gyi Temple with mural paintings, then to Manuha Temple which houses four immense Buddha images, Myinkaba lacquerware village to see the manufacturing stages. View the sunset from Shwesandaw Pagoda. Overnight at hotel in Bagan.

DAY(14) BAGAN – YANGON (AM FLIGHT) AND YANGON FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING (BY PRIVATE CAR)

This morning, you will be transferred to airport to leave for Yangon. When you arrive at Yangon, start your sightseeing with drive through the Colonial Style Buildings downtown, the Chinatown area and the Indian quarter. Enjoy your photo stop at Sule Pagoda and City Hall. Continue visit to Botathaung Pagoda close to the Yangon Wharves. There is a sort of mirrored maze inside the stupa, with glass showcases containing many of the ancient relics. In the afternoon, check-into your hotel. After refreshment at hotel, start your sightseeing with visit to Bogyoke (Scott) Market (closed on every Mondays & Public Holidays) and it has the largest selection of Burmese handicrafts. Continue to the reclining Buddha at Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, is almost as large as the enormous figure in Bago Shwethalyaung. Then drive to Kandawgyi Park and take photo of Shwedagon Pagoda from Kandawgyi Park. Enjoy sunset at Shwedagon Pagoda, the 'heart' of Buddhist Myanmar. The Pagoda is believed to be 2,600 years old and there are always full with many people praying and making offer ings at Shwedagon and especially on Full Mon days and religious days. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.

DAY(15) YANGON DEPARTURE

 

Free at leisure until departure time. You will be transferred to Yangon airport for your international flight.
