An unspoilt, sleepy beach holiday destination situated in the Bay of Bengal, with its white sand and crystal clear water, Ngapali Beach awaits the world to discover. It is a place where time stands still, allowing you to simply "switch off" and recharge your batteries.

There is plenty to do for those more active holiday makers and travellers alike.

  • Go line fishing and/or snorkelling on fishing boats.
  • Go game fishing on one of the specialist game fishing boats.
  • Play a game of 9 hole golf at the nearby Ngapali Golf course, maybe competing with the local golfers. (Be warned, they are pretty good!)
  • Go out on an early mornings bicycle tour around the surrounding villages, morning markets or along the entire Ngapali beach, sampling the local way of life.

Local fishermen are experts in catching fish in the traditional way, going out in their canoe-like small boats every day to bring the day's catch to be served at local restaurants. Some restaurants keep live lobsters, if that's your sort of thing. Some even do sushi and sashimi next to authentic Rakhine and Myanmar cuisine.

Experience the exquisite sunsets at the end of the day in this paradise. Sunsets over the Bay of Bengal is invariably a time to appreciate and celebrate mother nature's gifts over a glass of cold beer, cocktail or whatever takes your fancy.

Flight time from Yangon To Ngapali Beach is approximately 45 minutes. There are regular flights during the dry season, between October and April, from Yangon to Thandwe Airport (Ngapali). Upon your arrival our classic "Super Dodge" coach will be ready to pick you up and take you to Yoma Cherry Lodge over a 15 minutes' leisurely drive.

Ngwe Saung is also on the western coast of Myanmar on the Bay of Bengal, nearly directly west of Yangon and a bit south of Ngapali. It has become popular with tourists in just the last four or five years and the quality of the beach, sand and water is comparable to Ngapali Beach. There are many hotels (most of them are deluxe or superior category) however a few more are being built. Until recently, the beach could be reached only by car (about 5-6 hours drive) from Yangon, or by a tourist ferry that would make an overnight trip (but sometimes the boat would not run if they did not have enough bookings). Like Ngapali Beach, the beauty of the beach is unspoiled and visitors can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

One beach resort that has gained fame and popularity since the latter half of 1990 is the Chaung Thar (Pleasant Stream) Beach Resort. Located some 154 miles from the Capital City of Yangon and only 34 miles from Pathein, Chaung Thar is the nearest ocean resort available to foreign tourists, being easily reached from Yangon in 5 hour drive. It is the most popular beach for local so that you love this beach if you wish to observe our life.

It lies 24 km south of Kyaikkami and 16 km south-west of Thanbyuzayut, Mon State. It is a very wide, brown-sand beach that tends toward tidal flats when the shallow surf-line recedes at low tide. The beach is lined by waving casuarinas trees. Vendors sell fresh young coconuts full of juice, and restaurants serve seafood. It is one of the noted beaches in Myanmar.

Another Located 290 km from Yangon near Gwa on the Rakhine Coast, Kanthaya Beach is accessible by an 8 hour drive from Yangon over forested mountain road.
